Abstract:

Introduction and Aim: Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women worldwide. The incidence of breast cancer in Iranian women is increasing. There are many risk factors involved in the risk of breast cancer so that this risk factors have been determined according to genetically, environmental and geographical conditions in various studies. The aim of this study was to evaluate the risk factors of breast cancer in women of Markazi province.Methods: This study was carried out in Ayatollah Khansari Hospital in Markazi province with participate 240 patients with breast cancer and 240 without breast cancer. Data was collected by interviews based on prepared questionnaire. Data analysis was done with Chi-square by SPSS 20 software.Results: Statistical analysis showed an increased association was found with patients who have had abortion, stillbirth, and family history of breast cancer, early menstruation and poor dietary pattern. Also, significant associations was observed between age, number of children, education and job with risk of breast cancer. Against no significant association was observed between using anti pregnancy pills, late menopause, age at first birth and married with risk of breast cancer.Conclusion: Identify and determine the risk factors of breast cancer can play an important role in preventing the incidence of this disease It is recommended to conduct further studies on the subject with due consideration of other risk factors for breast cancer, as well as education of women about breast self-examination and importance of periodic clinical examinations.
