Abstract:

The aim of this study was to compare the effects of 8 weeks of traditional and NASM reforming exercises on the postural flat metatarsus amendment of girl students. This study was semi-experimental. For this purpose, 30 first high school students of Farsan who had flat metatarsus deformity were selected as available sampling and targeted, and were randomly placed in three groups of experimental 1 (traditional exercises), experimental 2 (NASM exercises), and control. Before and after workouts, the arch of their metatarsus was measured by navicular bone drop method (Brody method). The workout program was for 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week, and 60 min per session. To investigate changes in the post-test over the pre-test, t-paired test was used; and to determine in-group and out-group difference, ANOVA with repeated measures was used. Results showed that the traditional and NASM corrective exercises had a significant impact on the flat metatarsus deformity, but there was no significant difference in terms of efficacy between these two methods.
