Abstract:
Introduction: A fundamental revolution in human civilization is the merging and overlapping of technologies,i.e. the technological convergence, especially NBIC (nano-tech, bio-tech, ICT& Cognitive Science). Asignificant emphasis in this paper has been put on anticipating the position of neurogenetics in future wave oftechnological NBIC convergence.Methods: This mixed research includes two parts; in qualitative one, we listed the codes, concepts & categoriesof NBIC by Content Analysis technique; and in quantitative section, some professional experts analyzed theseconceptual components in relation with neurogenetics by Social Network Analysis technique & UCINETsoftware package.Results: The main categories of future technological NBIC convergence are: Human Engineering, EmbeddedEnvironment, Synthetic Biology, Data Governance, Intelligent Automation & Civilization Reorganizing.Findings show that the most powerful effect of neurogenetics will be on human engineering and the strongesteffect on neurogenetics will be from synthetic biology. Figure (1) shows the relations between conceptualcomponents of NBIC convergence. Figure (1): NBIC Convergent Technologies NetworkConclusion: We took an important role of neurogenetics in NBIC Convergent Technologies Network, so it isnecessary for Iranian NBIC Strategic Center to stablish an organizational unit for concentrating the programs andactions on neurogenetics and to support national or international researches in this area.
