Technology transfer has been a very frequent activity in the industrial world nowadays. Most of thesetransactions are taking place between highly developing countries, which are generally recognized as ‘northsouthtechnology transfer’ relationships. Technology valuation, and in particular technology pricing, has playeda considerable vital role in these transactions, in spite of a huge amount of limitations in the pricingmethodologies applied. These constraints generally revert to the complicated nature of different technologies.Making a sound, traceable and reliable means for applying the price evaluation procedure, seems as atechnological requirement to be traced for.The objective of delivering this paper is to introduce a new numerical technology pricing method to provide thetwo transacting parties a unique compromised price. Based on the pronounced development affair of the field,published in the literature, a three-dimensional model for technology pricing is purposed and exposed to a panelof experts for the judgment. The TOPSPS algorithm has been utilized to select the most similar technologies tothe intended one and the constructed scoring system is applied to calculate the final technology priceaccordingly. The overall framework and detailed procedure of the proposed method are presented here. Themethod is validated through its application in a certain type of industry via a case study adopted to illustrate thepractical application.
