Abstract:

Wavelet analysis is a new method and interest in its application has been observed recently. The wavelet transform (WT) lets exceptional localization , in time and frequency domains, in contrast to the Fourier transform , (FT). The wavelet transform has been used in ordinary and partial differential equation theory , signal and image processing communication theory and other fields of numerical analysis. The WT had been rarely used in to the oceanography and ocean engineering. Here , it is found that the position and the frequency at which the local sea level variation is approximated by the inverse barometric effect depends on the fluctuation of air pressure . When the pressure variation is high, the inverted correlation to sea level occurs in the same frequency range of practical and even higher in absolute value. The wavelet results are an obvious example of obtaining a detailed temporal analysis of one or more signals. There is much less evident is correspondence in the seventh , eighth ninth and tenth levels of detail. At these levels, other parameter affects the sea level besides that of barometric pressure and become more important factors affecting the sea level variation
