Abstract:
Entrepreneurial behavior within organization (or corporate entrepreneurship) is an important aspect of organizational and economic development. Effective entrepreneurial behavior facilitates an organization to move forward towards successful future venture opportunities. Although a substantial body of research has advocated that entrepreneurial behavior has positive outcomes for employees, studies on the predictors of entrepreneurial behavior particularly among middle-level managers within the banking sector are relatively limited. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to provide a preliminary review of the literature and propose a model linking job autonomy and entrepreneurial behavior of such managers within the Malaysian banking industry. In addition, emotional intelligence is explored as a credible moderator in the relationship between job autonomy and entrepreneurial behavior
