Since previous decades, lots of different strategies have been introduced to the educational and scientific communities in relation with second or foreign language learning. In the current study, we’re dealing with two fundamental categories:1) multiple intelligence 2) reading comprehension strategies. Consequently, the previously mentioned items’ significance will be reviewed through linguistic as well as psychological perspectives. Besides, second language learning research and theories offered by the pioneers strongly suggest that language learners may use various strategies to gain language skills including reading, writing, listening and speaking one of which will be discussed in this study. Because English language teaching plays an important role in educational curriculum in Iran and special attention is given to it, the present study can be significant. The study provides useful information for, language-planners, curriculum designers, textbook developers, language instructors, teachers as well as learners and their parents. Finding the type of relationship between MI and reading comprehension strategies will provide teachers in EFL context with opportunities to look differently at the curriculum, instruction and assessment. Gardner (1993) initially proposed there were seven intelligences which altogether enable human beings to comprehend and to perceive the world and to express themselves: Linguistic, Spatial, Logical/Mathematical, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, Bodily-Kinesthetic, and Musical. Gardner added an eighth and ninth type later. In this study we mostly concentrate only on linguistic intelligence which seems to encompass a wide variety of more specific abilities. Reading comprehension involves the ability to understand the meanings of individual words as well as passages of written or spoken texts. The present study intended to investigate the relationship between EFL Intermediate Learners’ Reading Comprehension Strategies and multiple intelligences.
