A Comparative Research on the Topic of Freedom from Rumi and Spinoza’s Points of View

The word freedom must be postulated as a sophisticated controversial concept,surrounded by a plethora of opinions and interpretations that vary from a society to another. It has been the center of undivided attention particularly after the heyday of the movement of ‘political thinking’ in Renaissance. The unlimited borders of the concept (freedom) have always paralyzed the efforts by the schools of thoughts to provide freedom with a comprehensive reliable definition.This calls for the further research in order to arrive at a consensus of opinions, so far developed by a number of thinkers. Relying on Rumi and Spinoza’s points of view (one of the leading mystics and philosophers respectively), this article aims to give a comprehensive account of the freedom and review their commonalities. It also tends to introduce freedom as the living style consistent with the moralities and wisdom, required to develop personal abilities. Finally, the objective of the article is to establish a guideline for reaching the great contentment to maintain the inner peace
