Pintersque crisis: The Dilemma of Cartesian Dualism or Sarterian Choice

Literature and philosophy have always had neighboring borders each reflecting the ideas of the other like a mirror. The dramatic art has demonstrated the philosophical obsessions carefully. This paper introduces the fear and anxiety known as Pinteresque crisis in his works within the frame work of mind and matter of Renes Descartes and the freedom of choice of Sarter. It delicately reveals Pinter’s tact in creating the special type of fear and panic of his own to show the bewilderment of characters in the dilemma of the introduced axis. It highlights Pinter’s maneuver over stage to show the existential philosophical obsessions. Such an atmosphere in his works highlights the philosophical challenge of man at the threshold of age of technology and after the two great world wars illustrating the features of modern man’s harassment and obsession.
