خلاصه مقاله:
An inhomogeneous plasma comprising ions,two temperature electrons and dust grains with variablecharge is explored for its unperturbed state for ions’ driftdue to density gradient and perturbed state for the evolutionof ion acoustic solitary waves and their reflection under theeffect of an external magnetic field. The ion drift velocity isfound to depend on the plasma parameters and magneticfield. The perturbed state of plasma supports two types ofion acoustic waves, which evolve into fast and slow compressivesolitary structures under certain conditions.However, only the fast solitary wave is observed to bereflected and acquired opposite polarity to that of theincident solitary wave. The solitary waves are found to bedownshifted after their reflection. The reflection coefficientacquires higher values in the case of dust grains of fixedcharge in comparison with the case of fluctuating charge onthe dust grains. It means the reflection becomes strongerwhen the charge on the dust grains does not fluctuate andremains fixed. The effect of dust grain density is to enhancethe amplitude of solitary waves but to weaken theirreflection. The amplitudes of both the incident and reflectedsolitons remain higher for the case of fluctuating chargeon the dust grains in comparison with the case of fixedcharge. The effective temperature of the plasma is alsofound to alter the solitary structures significantly in the caseof dust grains having fluctuating charge.
