Abstract:

Mn sculptured thin films were fabricated in formof graded helical square tower-like terraced sculptured Mnthin films (GHSTTS) using oblique angle depositiontogether with rotation of substrate about its surface normalwith fixed rotation angle (90 ̊ ) and a shadowing blockwhich was fixed at the centre of the substrate holder. Theanisotropy of the samples was examined by resistivitymeasurements at two orthogonal angles. Direct relationshipis obtained between resistivity and the anisotropy of theproduced samples which showed that both of theseparameters increase with decreasing distance from the edgeof the shadowing block. Simulation work using the perturbationtheory produced results consistent with theexperimental observations.
