Electron states in a sinusoidally deformedcylindrical nanowire are probed within the effective massapproximation. The nanowire is immersed in a homogeneousmagnetic field applied parallel to the axis of the wire.The sinusoidal deformity affects quantum properties ofelectrons considerably. The deformity introduces energydependence on the axial position, enhancing (decreasing)confinement energies in regions where the radius is narrower(wider). Analysis shows that the magnetic fieldattenuates these sinusoidal deformity-induced distortionson electron quantum properties
