Abstract:

The Grey relational analysis (GRA) method has been widely applied in solving multiple attribute decision making (MADM) problems. This paper extends the existing GRA literature by proposing a generalized methodology which provides normalization functions for the benefit, optimum and cost-type attributes and enables decision makers to consider both deterministic and non-deterministic attributes simultaneously. Carbon dioxide enhanced oil recovery as an increasingly important issue in the petroleum industry has the potential to allow the continued efficient production of oil fields whilst reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. Due to the technical and economic reasons, all oil reservoirs are not suitable for this purpose. The proposed methodology is applied to the problem of Initial technical evaluation and ranking of Oil Reservoirs for CO2-Flood Enhanced Oil Recovery. The real case problem of Iranian oil reservoirs was solved in order to obtain illustrative results.
