Abstract:

In this paper we survey one of the most new technologies relative to gas pipeline,inclusive to review for the kind of fiber optic sensors, advantages and defects apiece of those discussion. Also will illustrate recommendations on application of these technologies for consideration by management that might be included in the advance planning and conceptual design phase of a pipeline project. The most significant is the challenge of data de‐coding of the sensor input to make intelligent decisions relative to the actions to be taken on the system output. Also we will discuss the fiber optic security control and data acquisition (SCADA) networks which the operators utilize to monitor and control a large number of sensors or remote terminal units (RTUs). A SCADA system gathers information, such as where a leak on a pipeline has occurred,transfers the information to a central site alerts the home station that the leak has occurred, carries out the necessary analysis and control, such as determining if the leak is critical, and it displays the information in a logical organized fashion. Newer systems can alert and task the closest maintenance crew to go and investigate and /or repair the leak. In extremity to attain result Command and Control for maintenance such as vibration, corrosion and Sub‐System Failures Quick will Response Issues.
