Abstract:

Oceanic and marine ecosystems, i.e., water bodies, form a huge part of the global ecosystem (vs. terrestrial ecosystem). Therefore, Marine Primary Productivity is an indispensable moiety of food security related to human health and particularly coastal residents. Accordingly, it isimportant to monitor the impacts of climate change on marine environments through investigating Biotic and A-biotic indexes and to observe their variations. The Biotic indices proposed to take into account to achieve this objective include, Diversity & Density of Phytoplankton Community, Diversity & Abundance of Ichtyhoplankton (fish larvae stages) Community, and Biomass of Commercial Fish Stocks while the A-biotic indexes consist of Sea Surface Temperature (SST), Sea Surface Salinity (SSS), and Coral Reefs Ecosystems. This model was first presented worldwide in 2017 by the Iranian research team and endorsed by the International Convention on Climate Change (LANCET), and was internationally recognized as the sole marine indicator for the study on climate change effects.
