Abstract:

One of the most effective devices to separate liquid from the gas is a vaned mist eliminator. Liquid separation efficiency in this equipment is largely dependent on the gas velocity and geometrical parameters. In this study the effects of different vane geometries on the efficiency of mist eliminator have been investigated, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Eulerian-Lagrangian approach has been applied. The performances of the hooked and simple vanes were compared in simulation environment. The simulation results showed there was a conceivable dependency of separation efficiency and vane geometry.
