Abstract:
The solubility of ibuprofen in supercritical carbon dioxide was measured using a dynamic apparatus at pressure between 80 and 130 bar and at two temperatures, 35 and 40oC. With this experimental region, the mole fraction of ibuprofen in fluid phase was in the range from 0.0428´10-3 to 3.261´10-3. We used Mendez-Santiago-Teja equation to check the consistency of experimental data. Results were correlated using the Stryjek and Vera equation of state with van der Waals-1parameter (vdW1) mixing and combining rules and the interaction parameter along with the percentage of the average absolute relative deviation (%AARD) were displayed. Also, the Lydersen group contribution method, was used in predicting of the physicochemical and critical properties of the ibuprofen.
