Abstract:
A variety of two dimension equations of state including vdW, PR, SRK, Eyring and EOS-S were used to model the pure and binary adsorption equilibria. The pure model parameters for adsorption of methane and ethane on carbon active at 308.15, 333.15 and 373.15 K were obtained by regression of experimental data. The binary interaction parameters for adsorption of methane and ethane mixture on carbon active at 308.15, 333.15 and 373.15 K were also calculated by PREOS. The relative absolute average deviations (AAD%) of calculated results and the reported experimental data for various equations of state are reported. The AAD% for binary mixtures using PR-EOS is about 14%. By applying the model for methane, ethane, carbon active mixture, it was shown that this model is capable of describing the behavior of adsorption equilibria over relatively wide temperature ranges.
