Abstract:
The pervasive aim of this study is to find out the students attitude towards SDLL and also the relationship between SDLL, strategy use and reading comprehension of second high school students.The current study was guided by two research questions: (1):What associations, if any, exist between SDLL, strategies and reading comprehension (2) What is the students attitude towards strategy use in self-directed language learning (SDLL).To this end, a questionnaire designed by Gan (2003) and a reading comprehension section of a TOEFL test were distributed among 30 second high school students in Khadije Kobra school located in Konarak, Chabahar.Data from the study were analyzed by descriptive and inferential analysis. The findings revealed that students tended to self-directed language learning. There are statistically positive relationship between SDLL and reading comprehension ability.Also, they are interested in using strategies to facilitate their language learning.
