خلاصه مقاله:
The photocatalytic and sonocatalytic removal of basic dye Methylene Blue (MB) in aqueous solution with TiO2 as catalyst in slurry form has been carried out using UV-A radiation (365 nm) and ultrasonic waves respectively. The effect of catalyst loading and initial dye concentration on the removal of dye was ascertained and the process were found to be influenced by above parameters .Optimum dosage of catalyst was obtained in two cases and it was observed that the increase in initial concentration of dye leads to the decrease in removal percentage. The photocatalyst activity of TiO2 nanopowder was found to be efficient for the degradation of the dye. However, it could be stated that the removal efficiency is higher in photocatalysis than sonocatalysis.
