Abstract:

Background and Aim:Silver nanoparticles play an integral part in the evolution of new antimicrobials against the broad ranges of pathogenic microorganisms. The aim of this study was to produce silver nanoparticles by green methods, characterized these structures and assess their antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporumMethods:: In this study, we report the synthesis of nanoparticles using Teucrium polium extract. The silver nanoparticles have been characterized by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Also antifungal activity was determined by the well diffusion method. Results:Results showed that the synthesized AgNps have a spherical shape and a size ranging from 37 to 122 nm. Also silver nanoparticles showed antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporumConclusion:So silver nanoparticles may represent a new therapeutic option for the treatment of fungal infections.
