Abstract:

Background and Aim:Mycoplasma is a genus of bacteria that lack a cell wall around its cell membrane and it is believed to be involved in pelvic inflammatory diseases. Mycoplasma species are the smallest bacterial cells discovered up to now. The aim of present study was to investigation the prevalence of Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum infections in patients referred to Shahid Motahari hospital in Urmia by PCR method.Methods:PCR was performed using 70 urine samples collected. Also 70 urine samples from healthy people were studied as control group. Genomic DNA was extracted from the blood samples by using a DNA extraction kit.Results:Based on the results obtained, there was no significant difference between the presence of Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum in the case and control groups. In fact we did not have any positive samples.Conclusion:The results of this study demonstrated there weren t any evidence of Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum urine infection in shahid Motahari hospital in Urmia
