The Study of Susan Bassnett’s Theory in Translation of Drama Case Study Translation of Tennessee Williams’ Works

The translation of theatre text can be looked at and analyzed from a variety of different point of views. One can focus on the literary value of the text and view the translation of a particular text or author in a foreign language as an indicator of how they were received in the foreign country, or from a different standpoint, decide to focus on the nature of the theatrical sign and to investigate the dramatic text and its performance from the perspective of the translation process (Marinetti, 2007)This study will look at the translation of theatre text, first in descriptive view and explain about different theoretical aspect about translation of theatre texts, and then will be examined the translation of some cultural items in two translated drama text.
