Abstract:

In this paper we propose a hybrid heuristic method for optimal Distributed Energy Resources (DER) placement and reconfiguration in order to optimize system performance. Tabu search (TS) algorithm is used for DER placement and plant growth simulation algorithm (PGSA) is employed for optimal network reconfiguration with the objective of loss reduction. Tabu search algorithm because of both accuracy rapidness for solving the DER placement problem and PGSA that has less control parameters are considered for solving the Distribution Network Reconfiguration (DNR) and also are the best in comparison with other available algorithms. The aim of combining the two different algorithms is to leave the choice of local optimized selection by a method for the two different issues. The suggested hybrid algorithm is performed with different scenarios on standard radial networks of 33 and 69-node, and the upcoming ramifications are compared with those methods brought up by other papers
