Abstract:
A 35-year-old man with previous history of ALL was referred to the oral maxillofacial pathology department of Shahid Beheshti Dental School for consulting pathology slide. Previous pathology reports consist of: 1) Epithelioid tumor, probably of odontogenic origion 2) Malignant epithelial neoplasm compatible with amelobastic carcinoma Radiographic imaging showed large sabcutaneouse soft tissue mass (30mm) with destruction of adjacent bones. Bulging of the mass toward right nasal fossa was also seen.Microscopic examination showed a malignant salivary gland tumor composed of nests and sheets of mucous producing cells, epidermoid cells and intermediate cells that show pleomorphism, hyperchromatism and mitotic figures. Some of the nests and islands revealed cyst and duct formation and cribriform appearance. Stroma was hyalinized. Tumor partially was surrounded by fibrous connective tissue. Final diagnosis was mucoepidermoid carcinoma.
