Ameloblastic carcinoma with involvement of maxillary sinus: a case report

Abstract:
meloblastic carcinoma is malignant tumor of odontogenic epithelium which include lower than 1% of reported cases of Ameloblastoma. The reported case, was a 45 years old male with chief complain of right buccal swelling since 4 months ago. Intraoral examination revealed undemarcated buccolingulal swelling of right maxillary bone. Extraction of all right premolars and molars were present too. Destruction of maxillary sinus was also evident in CT scan images. An incisional biopsy was preformed from first molar socket and pathology result of Ameloblastic Carcinoma was made. Treatment plan of hemimaxillectomy with application of Mohs surgery technique was approached. The patient was evaluated after operation, 1 week, 2 & 6 months, 1 year and 8 year without any complication and recurrence. So, it seems, suitable treatment plan and follow up care can be useful for management of this tumor.
