Multiple Miyeloma: A case report

Multiple myeloma (MM) , is a relatively uncommon malignancy of plasma cell origin that often appears multicentric within bone . We present a case of MM in a 30-year-old female patient who presented with a swelling in left mandibular premolar area. Panoramic and lateral radiography showed osteolytic lesions on the skull and mandibular body. The serum protein electrophoresis determined ESR 115mm/hr and Bance-jones protein was positive in urine .Immunohistochemical examination revealed a strong reaction for kappa light chain in all tumor cells. Bone marrow aspiration revealed 70% plasma cell . conclusion: This report showed that MM occurs even in young patient thusknowledge of the characteristics of MM is important for early diagnosis of the disease.
