Abstract:

Laccases are multicopper oxidases which are considered by many researchers owing to their vast applications. One of their major capabilities is decolonization of synthetic dyes, which make significant problems by entering into the environment through the industries effluents. In this study, isolated and purification of the laccase enzyme from bacteria in the gastro-intestinal tract termite will be addressed. Then, the bacteria producing laccase were selected and characterization of laccase was studied The enzyme activity was reached to 179 U/ml after 26 h incubation in culture medium. The enzyme was quite stable in high temperature. the optimum laccase activity with syringldzine was at 60 оC and pH 8. Metal ions such as Cu2+, Zn2+, Mn2+ at 1 mM increased enzyme activity. Quinone was also a good substrate for this enzyme.
