Abstract:

This study discussed to understand the influence of the spiritual Curriculum Matrix on the General Proficiency of EFL Learners. To address the purpose of the study, the researcher prepared a situation in which the teacher, learners and the learning subjects and environment were interrelated to spirituality. In the current study, the teacher, utilized Iranian Rsocio -cultural context and added different hands-on activities and minds-on projects to the collection of instructional strategies. Simultaneously the provided matrix let the learners undertake more complex projects, with the intent of resolving authentic problems. The perceptions and beliefs of spirituality among the learners influenced the connections they had with others. When spiritual perceptions and beliefs are integrated by relevant instructions, not only led to convenient spaces, dependence on a transcendent other, but also made a better performance of reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills because of making relevant learning context. The findings of this study indicates that Spiritual curriculum matrix with the features of: the integration of Islamic subject matter; contextualized environment; relevant socio-cultural concepts; collaborative instruction; emphasis on problem solving and projects; combinations of independent and cooperative learning; learner-centered and constructivist approaches, directly or indirectly, influenced the learners’ progress and led the learners to achieve better general English language proficiency. This study employed for 3 months and was done in quasi-experimental design with pretest, treatment, and posttest design. The OPT (Oxford Professional Test) was given randomly to100 participants to homogenize them. Then 70 learners whose grade were 1 below and 1 above of the mean of standard deviation, were chosen. These learners were randomly divided to two groups of experimental and control. All learners are female. The age of learners is between 22 to 30. All the learners were university students but in different field of study.
