Abstract:

Background and Aim: Microbial properties of drinking water is one of its drinking criteria. Undesirable changes in these parameter can threaten the health of consumers. The purpose of this study was to measure the microbial parameter in various Sanandaj drinking water reservoirs and compare them with the national standard values. Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study which was carried out for 24 months from 15 reservoir stations according to the principles of water sampling. A total of 2784 samples were taken. Samples were transferred to the laboratory under standard conditions and total coliforms, thermophylic coliforms and HPC were measured. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS software version 18 and T-test and ANOVA. Results: The results showed that the mean value of the microbial parameters including total coliforms, thermophylic coliforms and HPC were 1.3896 MPN / 100mL, 0.9325 MPN / 100mL and 37.6676 CFC / ml, respectively. Conclusion: Therefore, according to the results, the average concentration of measured parameters were within the national standards and has a favorable status.
