Neuro-Cognitive Evidence of Risk Taking and Impulsivity in General Anxiety Disorder

The purpose of present study is evaluation of risk taking and inhibitory control in GAD. In present cross sectional study, thirty persons with general anxiety disorder compared with thirty healthy matched individuals. Balloon analogue risk taking task, go/no go and depression anxiety stress test were used for assessment. Independent T- Test was used for analysis. Findings show that speed and accuracy of go/no go test were similar in healthy and GAD groups. Healthy groups have higher risk taking than GAD group. Individuals with GAD have higher aversion from risk situation and this deficit should be considered in assessment and intervention of them.
