Abstract:

Smart materials are those that can understand and respond to the surrounding environment. One of the most interesting types of smart stuff is the material with the ability to change color from external stimuli. For example, imagine smart glasses, when depreciated, their colors change, so that you can predict impending breakup , and you can stop later problems. Imagine a space where toxic gases can be leaked, and our color changing glasses inform us of the presence of these sometimes odorless and achromatic (colorless) gases. Smart glasses have different types that are able to be tailor made, and even the possibility of combining some applications has been identified up to now. Electrochromic, Thermochromic and Photochromic materials are in the category of color-changing materials and are used in making smart glasses. This article is intended to explain the smart glass technology and then address the role of nanotechnology in synthesizing and improving the features of smart material derived from these three categories
