Abstract:

In recent decades, quality of life has been recognized as a part of health. Therefore, attention and concentration on enhancement of the quality of life of the elderly is considered necessary which this goal can be achieved by increasing spirituality and resilience. In this regard, the purpose of this study was to predict the quality of life based on spirituality and resilience in the elderly in Rasht. The present study is descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of this study consisting all elderly of Rasht city in 1397, among which 250 elderly were selected by convenient sampling method. To collect data, LEIPAD quality of life questionnaire (1998), Parsian and Dunning spirituality questionnaire (2009) and Conner-Davidson resilience scale (2003) were used. Then data were analyzed by SPSS-24 software. Data were analyzed by using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study showed that spirituality and resiliency have a significant relationship with quality of life (P <0.01). Beta coefficients of predictive variables showed that spirituality and resilience had a significant predictive value of quality of life (P <0.05). The results also showed that spirituality and resilience predict a significant degree of variance in quality of life. The results of the research exhibit that, as the degree of spirituality and resilience increases, quality of life of elderly increase significantly
