خلاصه مقاله:
Materials and Methods: In this review, recently published papers and related articles in scientific databases regarding the prevalence of Strongyloides stercoralis and other intestinal parasites in immunocompromised individuals in Iran, were collected. The key words used: Strongyloides syndrome, Strongyloidiasis, intestinal parasites, immunocompromised individuals and Iran that were carefully selected and collected in all search bases. Results: The results of scientific literature from 2002 to 2014 in 3 to 40 years old were reviewed. Infection rate of intestinal parasites was as follows: Lahijan (60.5%), Ardabil (43.8%), Tehran (34.5%), Qazvin (56.6%), Mazandaran (43.9%), Khuzestan (25.26%), Khorramabad (13.2%), Kerman (47.24%), Semnan (14.2%), Noshahr and Chalous (30.2%), Rabat Karim (28.7%), Hamedan (86%), Babol (28.5% ), Islamshahr (30.6%), Kashan (39.3%), Gorgan (33.5%), Sanandaj (38.3%), Zahedan (42%), ChaharMahalBakhtiari (56%), Isfahan (25%), Yazd (14.1%), Bandar Abbas (11.1%), Uromia (19.8%), Tabriz (44%), Bandar Anzali (15.1%), Karaj (25.6%), Saveh (14%) and Zabul (25.4%). The highest age of infection was between 3 to 40 years old, and infection in males was higher than females. Conclusion: According to the results of the scientific literature, in spite of the low level of Strongyloides stercoralis infection in the country compared to other intestinal parasites, due to the death of Strongyloidiasis in immunocompromised patients, attention to this infection during sickness was necessary.
