خلاصه مقاله:
Introduction: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is one of the major cause of viral chronic liver infections, and about 350 million people were infected chronically worldwide. The immune responses to HBV antigens are responsible for both viral clearances during acute infection and Hepatitis B Chronic (HBC) infection.Material and Method: Studies have shown single nucleotide polymorphism in IL-28B gene might be related with susceptibility to HBC infection by increasing liver inflammation and viral load. The patients were included 64 individuals, age range 17-66 y/o with diagnosed HBC infection and the control group were consisted of 21 healthy people age range 23-50 y/o.IL-28B gene polymorphism (rs8099917 G/T) was determined by a polymerase chain reaction restricted fragment length polymorphism.Result: Among all participant, 56(87.5%) were HBs Ag-positive compared to 29(12.5%) were HBs Ag-negative .IL-28 (rs80) TT and GT genotypes were more frequent in HBC patients in compared with the control group. There was no statistically significant association between the frequencies of IL-28B alleles in the patients and the normal population. Conclusion: This study showed that genotype TT in married group was higher than the single group and there was a significant difference in allele frequencies of patient group. This study indicates that IL-28B TT and GT genotypes may influence increasing susceptibility to HBC infection.
