Abstract:
This paper presents a comparison between optimized CUK and SEPIC DC-DC converters in MPPT unit of photovoltaic system. The optimization CUK converter has been achieved in inductors and capacitor actual values and has no effect on the overall structure and expense. Advantages and disadvantages of both CUK and SEPIC converter described. The perturb and observe (P&O) method is the most popular MPPT algorithm has been used as maximum power point tracking that the two converters with and without MPPT algorithm were modelled. Simulation results show that both CUK and SEPIC converters can track the MPPT with some minor variations in the output. Power and input current ripples simulation results are gained at worst cases in the STC condition.
