Abstract:

Recent developments in distributed generation and use of wind turbines has made scientists and researchers to widen their analysis in distributed energy generation in order to minimize output voltage ripple and increase power quality of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) in stand-alone mode. The modified model of DFIG uses diode rectifier instead of grid side converter (GSC). Diode rectifiers are connected to the grid and the stator and rotor voltage is supplied by voltage source inverter connected to DC link. In this paper, possible impacts of each branch’s resistance which is connected to DC link are analyzed using simulations in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The simulation results demonstrate which branch’s resistance should be optimized to reach a better output.
