Abstract:

Today, the composite drive shafts because of theiradvantages are used for many purposes. In this research,we tried to analysis the composite pipe by specificationof drive shaft. The capability of composite pipe totransmit a steady state torque under torsion calculatedand torsional buckling, Natural frequency and its modeshapes were studied by MATLAB and ANSYSsoftware. In this research Carbon/Epoxy andGlass/Epoxy plies by orientation of 0 and 90 deg wereused for design an optimum drive shaft by someconstrain. These constrain are Buckling, shear andfrequency. In addition, weight considered foroptimization because of the importance in cost ofproducts. The parameters of optimization are numbersof each material plies and their orientations. The Vonmisses Stress calculations were then compared to afinite element model (FEM) developed in ANSYSsoftware and by use of ANSYS software the modeshapes of natural frequency was calculated.
