Abstract:

Pathogenic agent of avian Influenza identified as irus type A of orthomixoviridea family which is considered as an important economic and hygienic issue. Therefore increasing the amount of resistance in order to prevent and eradication of infection would be so important. This article reviewed the comprehensive responses to vaccination strategies in industrial and traditional flocks. The results of more than 66 books and national/international articles were revised in this study. The kind of vaccination strategy depends on geographical conditions, economical features, subtype of virus and rate of outbreaks of disease at area and its neighboring countries, which causes a different method of emergency, permanent, prophylactic and complementary vaccination method be selected. Emergency vaccination would be used if neighboring countries or a special area fight with epidemic disease. Permanent vaccination would be supplied at endemic conditions at a country or an area. Prophylactic vaccination would be utilized to maximize the biosafety in an area with no disease but high risk conditions. Complementary vaccination considers as a controlling method to reduce the rate of disease involvement in industrial and traditional flocks among aquatic immigrant birds and wild birds. Therefore, choosing a correct vaccination method to control and prevent the avian influenza would be so necessary.
