Abstract:

The present study seeks to investigate the capacity of Polythiophene/zeolite (PTh/Ze) composite adsorbent to adsorb methylene blue dye from aqueous solution. Different concentrations of zeolite in synthesis composite were changed and their effects on dyes adsorption onto Polythiophne/zeolite composite were investigated. Initially, it was observed that polythiophene was not stable and dissolved in the solution and did not show good adsorption. Various concentrations of zeolite were used to increase %weight of zeolite then increase the adsorption capacity. Results show that adsorption capacity increased from 46.35 to 84.24 when %weight of zeolite increased from 10 to 50%. Also the morphology and chemical structure of adsorbent were studied using SEM and FTIR.
