Abstract:
Although copper has fundamental roles in environmental and biochemical processes, it can be greatly toxic to the biological tissue in case of extra concentration in cellular matrix. Environmental sensor research generates considerable interest and activity nowadays. Compared to traditional detection methods, nanoparticle -based sensors may have higher selectivity, sensitivity and stability and lower cost. Among the metal-based nanoparticles as the most favorable reagents for the determination of metal ions, silver nanoparticles have a great development towards resolutions of environmental problems and concerns because of their small size, extremely good photostability, excellent fluorescent characteristics, and large stock shifts. This review reports on some of the most attracted copper (II) ion nanosensors using several nanostructured silver platforms which functionalized with different reagents for a sensitive and selective detection.
