Abstract:
The main objective of this work was to probe the effect of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on the rheological and morphological properties of polypropylene (PP)/ ethylene-butene copolymer (EBC) 70/30 blend prepared by simultaneous melt blending. The results of thermodynamics measurements suggested that the MWCNTs were preferentially localized in the EBC phase. Melt linear viscoelastic measurements also showed a greater affinity of MWCNTs towards the EBC droplets. The microstructure of the samples was analyzed by melt linear viscoelastic experiments and electron microscopy, which revealed that the MWCNTs were dispersed quite homogeneously.
