THE EFFECT OF EUCATIONAL INTERVENTION ON INTENTION, MILK AND DAIRY PRODUCTS CONSUMPTION OF FEMALE STUDENTS IN BEHBEHAN CITY USING ON THE THEORY OF PLANNED BEHAVIOR

Abstract:
Background and Aim: Milk and dairy products are the primary sources of calcium. Considering the importance of calcium in the diet of adolescents, especially girls, and reflecting its effects on health and Ages of Adult .The objective of this study was to increase milk and dairy products consumption among girl-pupils in Behbehan City, through designing and implementing an educational program based on the theory of planned behavior.Methods: This quasi experimental study was performed on 140 students who were randomly was chose in test and control groups. Data was collected by using a researcher-made valid and reliable questionnaire by self-report method with pre-test/post-test procedures. The educational interventions were performed on students for 3 weeks in test group and also for their teachers and parents in two sessions. Post test was conducted 8 weeks after the intervention .Data were analyzed by using SPSS-20 software and appropriate statistical tests including descriptive statistics chi-square, independent-t and paired t-tests. Results: Before the intervention there was no significant differences was found between test and control groups in mean scores of model structures (p> 0.05), but after the intervention show statistically significant increases in the mean scores of behavior intention and behavior. Conclusion: Considering the effectiveness and low cost of this intervention, expanding this program can potentially lead to a rise in milk and dairy products consumption among the pupils. So we suggested using of interventions based on this model in related health behavior programs.
