Abstract:

Background and Aim: Breakfast is a major and very important meal for health. Obviously, deleting this meal can have irreparable consequences for the individual. As the age grows, the removal of this meal is noticeable. Regular consumption of breakfast in childhood is associated with improved recognition of better academic performance and higher quality of life. School age is a period of rapid physical growth that should be sufficient for the metabolism of this period to provide sufficient and diverse nutrients. This research conducted as a survey of the pattern of breakfast consumption among Isfahan students.Methods: This is a descriptive-demographic study that carried out after obtaining the necessary permissions from the city s education in primary schools in Isfahan. A total of 320 students aged 9 to 13 years were selected and The questionnaire was analyzed using SPSS V22 software.Results: The mean and standard deviation of students was 11.1 ± 1.3 years. Almost 68.5% of students said they always have breakfast, and the remaining 22.8 often, 8.7 sometimes or rarely do this, 9.7% never want breakfast. About 55.8% of students,due to their lack of appetite for breakfast, 31.1% of students, due to lack of time and 13.1% of student expressed due to parents did not prepare breakfast , they don’t eat breakfast.Conclusion: The results of research can be used to help plan and improve the health of students by nutritionists to teach education to students and their Families by the Ministry of Education of the province.
