Abstract:

Background and Aim: The World Health Organization (WHO) has referred to the satisfaction as one of the five important indicators for the quality evaluation of service delivery. The level of occupational stress can affect the quality of service delivery. Hence, a study was carried out to examine the relationship between occupational stress and satisfaction level of personnel food in Musabne Jafar Hospital of Quchan.Methods: In order to investigate the occupational stress, 109 OSIPOW questionnaires were filled out of 361 personnel employed in the hospital. Satisfaction level was evaluated based on 5-point Likert scale. Points 4 and 5 were considered as satisfaction with food and points less than 4 were considered as dissatisfaction with food. The SPSS-18 software (SPSS Inc., IL, USA) was used for statistical analysis. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to check the normality of the data and Spearman test to evaluate the relationship between occupational stress and food satisfaction were used respectively.Results: Total stress was 23.25 ± 183. The stress on the role work load was 10.24 ± 30, the role incompetence was 6.9 ± 32, the role duality was 8 ± 34, the role range was 5.9 ± 31, the sense of responsibility was 6 ± 29, and the physical environment was 8.6 ± 29. 68% of the personnel were satisfied with food and 32% of them were dissatisfied.Conclusion: The overall stress level of the personnel was evaluated to be moderate to severe; however, there was no relationship between the degree of occupational stress and the satisfaction of food.
