Abstract:

Background and Aim: Supply of nutrients to the fetus, the fetus is a critical factor in the health and survival. The purpose of this study was to compare dietary intake and food insecurity for women with unplanned and planned pregnanciesMethods: This case-control study on 200 pregnancies unplanned two groups (cases) and pregnancy planned (controls) Falavarjan, with a systematic random selection was carried out, using a self-made questionnaire, FFQ and Security Food (USDA). Data were collected by interviewing the mothers and were analyzed with the software N4, 16.0SPSS and statistical tests.Results: The prevalence of food insecurity was cases (51%) higher than in controls (37%), significantly. Unplanned pregnancy increased the risk of food insecurity 1.15 times. In both groups received a high population and its successors meat, milk, vegetables and fruits, less, bread and cereals were much higher than those recommended in the food pyramid for pregnant women. There was no significant difference between the two groups except fruit. In both groups of milk, fruit, and meat substitutes that food security was a significant inverse correlation (0.05> P). The risk of unplanned pregnancy in food insecurity and low intake of milk and vegetables increased. But the stronger the effect of food insecurityConclusion: Food group Received no meaningful relationship with unplanned pregnancy. However, with increasing food insecurity, reduced food consumption.
