Abstract:

Dealing with multi-phase flows in problems including high density ratios is a rugged job for researchers to do. One of the most applicable examples of these researchesare aerated flows which are expected in water purification systems. As a robust method in this context, Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) could be a great help. SPHwith its Lagrangian Particle approach widely used in problem of fluid-solid interaction and interfacial flows and less applied to high density ratio problems. It is because.beside its great abilities. SPH standard algorithms may affected by some numerical instabilities and needs to be modified, especially in density ratios more than 5.111 these cases, a great density gradient will occur in the phase transition line and make the solution instable and divergent. Therefore, in this research, author try to simulate an air rising bubble in a water chamber (density ratio of 1000) by means of a modified incompressible three-step algorithm of SPH to model the phenomena adequately. For Validation. results have been compared to eminent researches in this field.
