Abstract:

A study on the electrocatalytic performances of nickel–molybdenum that were prepared byelectrodeposition. During the electrocodeposition process of Ni–Mo coating on stainless steelsubstrates with an alkaline electrolytic bath containing of different material such asNiSO4·6H2O, Na2MoO4·2H2O, H3BO3 and Na3C6H5O7·2H2O [1,2,3]. After preparing, electrodeposition process was performed in a three-electrode cell in which saturated calomelelectrode was used as a reference electrode, Pt gauze as counter electrode and stainless steel asworking electrode. The plating solution was purged with N2 for 10 min before deposition. Pulsedelectrodeposition was used to prepare Ni–Mo using a potential of −1.303V for 10 s then −0.862Vfor 3 s until a total charge of 100 C was reached [4,5].
