Abstract:

Cold purification filter cakes obtained in convectional hydrometallurgical zinc process are considered a major recovery source for zinc production. In the present work, solvent extraction of zinc from the solution obtained of sulfuric acid leaching of cold purification filter cake from Angouran mine concentrate using D2EHPA and TBP mixture was investigated. Finally, extractants mixture concentration diluted in Kerosene, modifier optimum concentration in organic phase and solution pH were investigated and optimum values were obtained to be 40% vol. D2EHPA, 5% vol. TBP and 1.5< pH<2, respectively. Under these conditions, 85% of Zn could be extracted selectively [1-4].
