Abstract:

BiFeO3 is perhaps the only material that is both magnetic and a strong ferroelectric at room temperature[1]. Because of this magnetoelectric coupling, BiFeO3 based systems may be used to develop novel applications in the eld of radio, television, microwave and satellite communication, bubble memory devices, audio-video and digital recording[2]. In this work, we try to synthesize pure Bi1-x Bax Fe1-y Coy O3 nanopowders through Sol – Gel method. We utilized Bi(NO3)3.5H2O, Fe(NO3)3.9H2O, Co(NO3)2.6H2O and Ba(NO3)2 as the precursor. The product was characterized by avariety of techniques such as XRD, SEM and EDAX. In comparison with other reported method, this method is simple, fast and energy ef cient and resulted in smaller nanoparticles .
